Woodbine Entertainment and the benevolent and protective association of Ontario riders have entered into a new agreement on a new two-year agreement that increases the $ 5.7 million handbags, according to a press release from the racetrack on Wednesday afternoon.

The new agreement initiated $ 64.7 million in handbags in 2025 and $ 65 million in 2026, both with 128 -day meetings. The next 2025 season will start on Saturday April 26 and ends on Sunday, December 14.

“We are very happy to have concluded this agreement with the HBPA which increases handbags for our race community, even though the industry continues to deal with important challenges and winds,” said Michael Copeland, CEO of Woodbine Entertainment.

“Coming to an agreement allows our horses to plan and move forward,” said HBPA president Sue Leslie. “The 128 days of racing and the increase in the bag offer a necessary stability for our members and although there is always more work to do, we think that this is a step forward and positive for the race in Ontario.”
