Beijing’s ambassador to Canada says China is interested in intensifying trade with Ottawa while the United States continues to continue a world trade war.
Wang Di says Washington should not force Canada to choose between the United States and China because it would destabilize the global economy more.
This occurs after the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Melanie Joly, confirmed to journalists in front of a meeting of the cabinet in Ottawa on Wednesday that China executed four Canadians earlier This year on what Beijing says, these are “drug -related crimes”.
During a commercial promotion event on Tuesday organized by the Chinese Embassy in Ottawa, Wang claims that China’s volume of trade with Canada has increased, despite tendent relations in recent years.
He also says that China would be willing to consider a free trade agreement after the talks on a possible agreement collapsed in 2018.

But he says that it would only be possible if Canada withdraws various restrictions on Chinese trade – some Ottawa implemented by citing national security.

“We believe that when a country develops relations with another country, it should be beneficial and useful to the relations of all countries among the international community, instead of sacrificing the interests of other countries,” said Wang through its interpreter of its embassy.
