Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Marcus Pettersson was injured and left the game late in the first period. The Penguins continued with just five defensemen in their 3-2 overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators.
Pettersson limped through the tunnel with his trainers and did not return. The exact nature of his lower body injury or its cause was unknown, but Pettersson had a pronounced limp.
Penguins coach Mike Sullivan did not have a specific update following the game.
