Tulare, California (KFSN) – Great Wolf Lodge Water Park & Resort which attracts visitors to Manteca is only one of the well -known names that are inspired by a possible entertainment district in Tulare.
“We have hired a consultant to study to compare ourselves to certain cities that have entertainment areas, and entertainment is generally destination locations where they could have large retailers like Bass Pro Shops or hotels like Great Wolf Lodge or entertainment like Top Golf, and they exist throughout the country,” explains the municipal director, Marc Mondell.
The members of the Council examined the initial study during a strategic planning session of the Council on Friday morning.
Managers say Tulare is in a privileged location for this type of project due to easy access to motorway 99 which includes a six -lane extension project.
And there is a lot of space to build near the Cartmill exchanger – or the new International Agricovers’ Trade Interchange.
“I think I am in the center of the state and not have other users with who to compete, so we are a kind of a single market, I think it will be attractive,” said Mondell.
The study revealed that the development proposal for 125 acres could provide thousands of jobs and more than two million dollars in revenues per year … helping to keep local dollars.
“When you see this dollar circulating five times, you keep a person employed in a company that the employee will spend his money in another company, then that the employee will spend it, so it is really this circular impact of the income that comes to the community,” explains Dontette Silva Carter, president and CEO of the Chamber of Tulare.
This also means more potential pedestrian traffic for all local businesses.
Like Galaxy Theatres of the Outlet Tulare.
The Managing Director hopes that this could lead to a double income, an increase in employment and long -term success for the community.
“I think we may have a strong economy in the city of Tulare for the next decade to come,” said the general manager of the Galaxy Theatres, Freddie Gonzalez.
He continues: “It is very significant as a parent who builds a foundation here for a community and providing that the next generation and or children can keep the roots here within our community.”
The city says that a key element of the proposal is an interior sports leisure facility that could attract major tournaments to the city.
Local leaders will continue to explore these options and hope to arouse even more interest from large companies.
