Dear UCSC community,

During a period of uncertainty, access to coherent, compassionate and high quality medical and behavioral health care is greater than ever. At Student Health, we remain firmly in our commitment to providing centered care on students, ensuring that you have the support and resources you need to prioritize your well-being.

Our team of dedicated professionals works every day to provide accessible, reliable and affordable care. No matter what challenges are arguing, we will be there for you and will continue to offer essential health services, in particular:

  • Primary primary care services, laboratories and radiology, laboratories and radiologies
  • Full service pharmacy
  • Transgender and non -binary care
  • Medical and TV therapy meetings
  • Self-ordering activation tests
  • Online birth control consultations and boresic health services
  • Mental health support by ceilings, psychiatry and the Rise clinic

We understand that navigation on health care may seem overwhelming, especially now. We are committed to helping you access our services and providing high quality and high-quality care that supports your health and well-being. Your concerns are important and we are there for you.

As part of this current commitment, I am happy to present Dr. Karen Wang as a new medical director and Dr. Allyson (Ally) Garcia as a new associate medical director. Since he joined Student Health on January 23, 2025, they have brought a precious experience in the three counties area and a dedication common to the well-being of students.

Dr Wang is an ob / gyn certified by the card and before coming to the UCSC, there was the Clinic Ilded for Dignity Ob / Gyn and Codirector of the Dominican Hospitalist Ob / Gyn program.

Dr Garcia is a certified pediatrician of the board of directors and recently served as a primary care doctor at Laurel Pediatrics and pediatric hospitalist at Natididadad, both in Salinas.

Their leadership strengthens our ability to support you in all aspects of your health career. Please join me to welcome Dr. Wang and Dr. Garcia at the UCSC. I look forward to the positive impact they will have on our community.

In Student Health Services, we firmly believe that health care is a human right, and we are committed to ensuring that each student has access to the care they need. Our doors – and our hearts – are open to you.

In partnership,

John Bollard

Associated vice-chancellor
