Binghamton, NY (WBNG) – In front of a crowded room of Celebrations on Park, CEO of the leadership Alliance Stacey Duncan and the industrial development agency, or Ida has announced plans for its next technology park.

The proposed park would occupy more than 500 acres of goods. The idea is to help build the county economy.

“Our initial estimates of job creation during this period are something like 17,000 jobs over 20 years,” said Duncan. “It is not necessarily all auxiliary jobs that come from small businesses at the service of the park. Our estimates for building this over time are more than 38,000 construction jobs. »»

The advanced technology park will include services such as businesses, manufacturing, health care, daycare centers and more.

Duncan told 12 news that the project would help bring the manufacturing to North New York.

“The locations of manufacturing companies come and build roots. We actually examine certain housing components on the location, ”noted Duncan. “We would like to work with our university partners to work with companies who wish to bring their R & D here to be close to training at university and labor.”

The project will occupy more than 500 acres from the airport road in eastern Maine. Some residents have expressed their concerns about the project, but Duncan told 12 news that Ida appreciates residents’ comments.

“So, the comments of the leaders of the community who attend the forum BU are so essential to have so that we can make sure that we incorporate things that the community wants to see in our design and our planning,” said Duncan.

Duncan said to 12 news that the plans have not yet been completely finalized.

There is currently no fixed date to inaugurate the project.
