Leon Draisaitl scored his second goal of the night on a breakaway 3:52 in overtime, and the EDMONTON Oilers beat the New York Islanders 2-1 Friday evening.
Calvin Pickard finished with 24 stops to help the Oilers win for the fourth time in seven games.
“He gives us a chance every time he is in the net,” said Draisaitl after the match when he was asked about the game of Pickard. “You can’t ask for this anymore.” We like to play for him.
Bo Horvat scored for Icelanders and Ilya Sorokin finished with 33 stops. New York lost its third consecutive match.
