British Columbia has new legislation, the toll on trucks going to Alaska in the middle of the prices

“This bill provides a range of authorities to allow the government to respond quickly to the recent unprecedented threats to our United States province,” Niki Sharma, British Columbia and Deputy Legislature said on Thursday.

“The proposed legislation will serve as an important tool to help us answer in four different ways. The bill will provide large tools to reduce or eliminate obstacles to interprorvincial trade. It will provide a clear authority and expressed to the government to issue directives to (a) a wide range of public sector entities in connection with supply.

“It will create mechanisms designed to allow the government to impose a system of tolls, costs or other costs on vehicles using certain infrastructures of British Columbia, such as motorways and coastal ferries, and it will provide general effects of flexible power to government to meet the challenges to British Columbia resulting from the actions of a foreign jurisdiction in Canada and The colony of Canada.

The law will also include a sunset clause where it will expire on May 28, 2027, unless it is extended.

The law will not come into force immediately and the question of interprorvincial commercial obstacles will change on the other provinces which set up similar legislation.

“The specific vehicles and routes that we are looking for are currently from Washington to provide Alaska, and this is a very specific reason why we are examining this,” David Eby, the Prime Minister of British Columbia on Thursday.

“It is not because we hate Alaskians, it is because there is a republican governor and a republican deputy, and that they have access to the president, they have the capacity to transmit the message for us, how integrated we are. In fact, the Alaska route was built in partnership between Canada and the United States ”
