Pearl City High School in Oʻahu is the first in Hawai’i to install the technology a wall of anatomages sciences – a giant 3D interactive screen which means that teaching health sciences at the upper level, making learning more relevant and more engaging.

The high-tech wall works with the anatomage table, a digital platform that allows students to zoom in on bones, muscles and organs, turn the parts of the body and even watch a heart beating in real time. The addition of the wall allows teachers and students to more easily have full class discussions and interact with the equipment in a way that they could never before. The tables are also equipped with software for virtual physics, chemistry and biology laboratories.

Pearl City High students do not only use this technology to learn in class, they also present their knowledge and skills competitively. The wall of anatomage sciences allows teachers to project lessons in real time of anatomage tables, to improve commitment and understanding. Students can see and dissect a digital human corpse, study tissue samples, identify bones and muscles and even work on animal skeletons.

The scientific wall consists of 400 individual tiles (see video for the time of assembly). The tiles are double micro-LED wall tiles which are programmed individually and designed to display the content from anatomage tables. The display area measures more than 19 feet wide by 5.5 feet high.

There are 50 anatomage tables used in 44 Hidoe schools, including three colleges. Highlands Intermediate School, also located in Pearl City, won first place in its division at the National Anatomage Tournament in 2023 and 2024.
