The couple started Dickson Avenue Pickles to help cover funeral costs and honor their boys.

The idea for the pickle business came on Thanksgiving, while they were cleaning Blake’s house. Among his belongings was a street sign reading “Dickson Ave,” which inspired the name of their new business.

“That’s why we do it, otherwise we wouldn’t want to get out of bed.” We want everything to stop. We want to grieve every day, but we wake up every day realizing that people are counting on us,” Mahriah said.

Since starting the business, the Dicksons have raised $1,000 through pickle sales and more than $13,000 through GoFundMe. The family hopes to raise enough money to bury Brendon and Blake by Christmas. They then plan to use these funds to support other families facing similar tragedies.

“We just wanted our kids to have a place to go and see their name or their face,” Mahriah said.

Despite their loss, the Dicksons continue to move forward for their 17 children and their community.

To support the Dicksons’ efforts, visit their GoFundMe or consult their pickle sales.
