Bosch sells its security products and communications technology businesses to Triton

STUTTGART, Germany—Bosch announced the sale of its Building Technologies division’s product businesses for security and communications technologies to European investment firm Triton. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

BoschThe transaction encompasses three business units – Video, Access & Intrusion, and Communication – which represent all of Bosch Building Technologies’ product businesses offered for sale.

Future prospects and new beginnings for business units

In October 2023, Bosch announced that as part of the realignment of its Building Technologies division, it would sell most of the division’s product businesses.

“Our goal was to find a suitable buyer who would take over the three security and communications technology business units and offer its associates a future perspective. We have achieved this goal,” said Christian Fischer, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH, responsible for portfolio management of the Bosch Group and this transaction. “Triton has presented a sustainable and credible growth strategy for the company. With its investments, Triton focuses on European companies in the industrial, healthcare and business services sectors. The investment firm previously guaranteed acre purchased in 2021 and more recently, Wavelynx Technologies in 2023.

Realignment of Bosch construction technologies

As part of its realignment, the Bosch Building Technologies division will focus on its business as a regional integrator, with solutions and services for building security, energy efficiency and building automation.

Bosch Building Technologies’ goal is to become one of the world’s leading system integration providers and to seize attractive growth opportunities in this segment. Due to its importance for system integration, the product business relating to fire alarm systems should be merged with the integrator business and continued.

Following the transaction, Bosch Building Technologies will have approximately 8,000 associates in eight countries. As a product-independent system integrator with a broad portfolio of energy and building solutions, the division intends to benefit in the future from digitalization and growing customer demand for integrated, intelligent, cross-domain solutions. in the areas of building security. , energy efficiency and building automation.

All 4,300 employees employed in these units spread over more than 90 sites around the world will be taken over, with the parties signing agreements to this effect. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. It is expected to be closed by the end of the first half of 2025.
