President Donald Trump Signed a decree on Thursday to suspend the safety authorizations of perkins Coie employees, citing the diversity, actions and inclusion practices of the law firm.

“It is an absolute honor to sign,” said the president at the Oval office.

Perkins Coie has long been part of private law firms on the best known for his work in the policy of the Democratic Party. For several years, the lawyer for the Marc Elias elections, who has coordinated legal efforts for many democratic campaigns and the party itself, was with the cabinet, which is still dealing with legal work for the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee.

The firm was also a magnet for Trump’s anger after the 2016 elections because it had used money from the Democratic Party to hire the opposition research cabinet that commanded the Russian file about Trump and his campaign.

In recent weeks, the firm has joined many other lawyers who publicly oppose the actions of administration in court. Half a dozen lawyers from Perkins Coie are working on a case contesting the ban on Trump Trans service members.

“We have examined the decree. He is clearly illegal and we intend to challenge him, “said a spokesperson for Perkins Coie in a press release at CNN when he was contacted.

In the latest decree, Trump also ordered agency chiefs to publish advice limiting official access to Perkins Coy employees to federal buildings “when such access threatened national security or would be otherwise incompatible with the interests of the United States.” Meaning meetings are frequent when they represent a regulatory or investigating customer

The president also sought to prevent agency officials from hiring members of the company.

Previously, Trump suspended active security authorizations for the Big Business of the Big Business of Washington Covington & Burling Who worked on the representation of Jack Smith, the former special council which, now as a private, awaits republican surveys.

Trump also revoked the authorization of an eminent national security lawyer Mark Zaid and others.

Security authorizations are often used by private practice lawyers so that they can defend customers whose cases may require access to classified evidence or other protected national security equipment.

The president’s decision to suspend the authorizations of certain lawyers to which he is politically opposed has shaken the legal community, in particular in Washington, where a fundamental element of the right of practice allows customers to choose their own representation. Even Trump’s own lawyer’s own defense lawyers were able to approve the security authorizations by the National Security apparatus of the Biden administration so that they can adequately represent him before the court.

Paula Reid of CNN contributed to this report.
