Winchester, Ky. (Lex 18) – The city of Winchester announced Thursday the opening of the entertainment destination center. The center will allow customers to buy and consume alcoholic beverages in specially marked cups while exploring the city center.
The city says that EDC should offer a variety of attractions to everyone. Customers will be able to participate in outdoor events and visit downtown companies such as shops, restaurants and bars.
The celebration of Saint-Patrick 2025 will officially launch the new EDC. A ribbon cup will be held under a giant rainbow at 3 p.m. on Saturday March 15 at Pizza Pizza Pizza just before the fraternity of Saint-Paddy’s Day. The celebration will include a historic toast, free Irish soda bread with beer cheese dip, a traditional mesh competition and a cabbage “roller”, according to a city press release.
After the ribbon cup, the ad ramp will bring participants to various stops around the EDC.
The EDC will operate from Friday to Sunday with the hours:
- 10 a.m. Friday at 1 a.m.
- 11 a.m. on Saturday at 1 a.m. on Sunday
- 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday
