As his clinical condition remained stable without new breathing episodes, Pope Francis called the Catholic parish in Gaza and carried out several work activities, according to the Holy See press office on Wednesday evening.

By Vatican News

The Holy See Press Office published the following statement on Wednesday evening, offering the daily medical update on the health of Pope Francis.

“The Holy Father also remained stable today, without any episode of respiratory failure.

“As expected, it used additional oxygenation, high speed and non -invasive mechanical ventilation will resume this evening.

“The Holy Father has increased its physiotherapy respiratory and active engine. He spent the day in his chair.

“Given the complexity of the clinical situation, the prognosis remains kept.

“This morning, in the private apartment on the 10th floor, the Holy Father participated in the rite of the blessing of the sacred ashes, which were imposed on him by the celebrant. He then received the Eucharist.

“Subsequently, he embarked on several professional activities. In the morning, he also called Father Gabriel Romanelli, the parish priest of the Holy Church of the family in Gaza.

“In the afternoon, he alternated between rest and work.”

Pope Francis receives treatment for bilateral pneumonia at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome since his hospitalization on February 14.

Its bilateral pneumonia follows the normal evolution of a condition of this type under treatment. The pope actively cooperates with the therapies prescribed, and his mood remains good.

The Pope’s doctors highlight the absence of crises in the last two days, but time is necessary for more in -depth assessments. The clinical image remains stable in the context of a complex situation.
