Prime minister Justin Trudeau said Moscow cannot trust any agreement to put an end to his invasion of UkraineWhile European leaders are developing Washington understanding plans and protecting the continent from more incursions by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Trudeau said it could lead Canada to join a new military coalition aimed at maintaining possible peace in Ukraine, but outgoing Prime Minister has added that others will have to make such a decision.

“Vladimir Putin is a liar and a criminal, and you cannot trust to hold his word in any way. Because he has repeatedly demonstrated that he will rummate all agreements, “said Trudeau on Sunday.

He addressed journalists from the Canadian High Commissioner in London after attending a summit with European leaders to find a viable path to a possible Ukrainian peace agreement.

Ralph Goodale, Canada High Commissioner in the United Kingdom, said on Saturday that the summit’s objective was to guarantee “long-term security guarantees that could ensure that the inhabitants of Ukraine can count on peace as a normal lifestyle, and not threatened constant or constant oppression of an unreliable neighbor”.

The London meeting came while Washington has thawed relations with Russia, despite most European countries wishing to maintain the distance from Moscow for its large -scale invasion in 2022 from Ukraine.

Trudeau expressed unwavering support for Volodymyr Zelenskyy after the Ukrainian president’s explosive meeting last Friday with US President Donald Trump in the White House.

“I stand with Volodymyr Zelenskyy,” said Trudeau on Sunday.

He described Zelenskyy’s comments to Washington as an argument to Trump that Russia just can’t trust.

Trudeau also said that the war would end tomorrow if Russia decided to stop its illegal invasion.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Sunday that the United Kingdom, France and Ukraine had agreed to work on a cease-fire plan to present in the United States.

Starmer said the United States was still a reliable ally, but it called on European partners to increase their arms expenditure and said they should take responsibility for their own security.

To this end, Starmer assembles a “coalition of wishes” to defend Ukraine and guarantee peace. The United Kingdom is ready to support this with “boots in the field and air aircraft,” said Starmer, without naming other countries that could commit resources.

Trudeau said the Canadian Armed Forces could contribute, but he said that others should decide how “in the coming years” and that he has not responded to the concerns that the Canadian army is already too extensive.

Trudeau reiterated that Ukraine’s struggle is to respect international rules and said its security was the absolute priority of Canada as the current G7 president.

The president of the European Council, Antonio Costa, said that solid security guarantees were crucial to ensure lasting peace in Ukraine, telling journalists of agreements according to the invasion of Crimea in Russia in 2014 were clearly insufficient.

The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, said that she would present a plan to “rearrange Europe” and strengthen the security of the European Union, adding that Ukraine must strengthen.

“It essentially transforms Ukraine into a steel porcupine that is indigestible for potential invaders,” she told Media on Sunday.

The conservative chief Pierre Hairy, commenting on Sunday the crash of the White House, pointed a finger on Russia as the aggressor in his war with Ukraine.

“All democracies must be held with the Ukrainians and their right to defend themselves and recover their territory, and any contrary suggestion is wrong,” he said.

Hairyis also blamed liberal energy policies to prevent Europeans from replacing Russian energy with Canadian exports.

Canada announced new sanctions on 10 people and 21 entities on Sunday, including paramilitary organizations and their leaders, to help counter Russia’s dependence on organizations and third countries to advance its objectives in Ukraine.

Ottawa said he had imposed sanctions on more than 3,000 people and entities accomplices in the assault of Russia to date.

Professor of the University of Carleton, Stephen Saiman, said before the summit that Trudeau has many more options, such as reconsidering the purchase of F -35 fighter planes from American companies and replacing them with Eurofighter aircraft – a decision that would likely arouse litigation on contracts.

“We are at a time when we need imagination on the possibilities,” he said.

“Europeans and Canada must start thinking in the United States in completely different terms: as an adversary, not an ally.”

Saiteman said Trudeau went to London to ensure that Canada remains relevant as Europeans determine how to manage their own security without the support of Washington.

“The biggest interest in Canada is not to be forgotten. Most of the time, it is solidarity, “he said.

“Canada is still attached to Europe’s security, and we would like Europe to be involved in Canada’s security.”

Saiteman, director of the Canadian Defense and Security Network, said Trudeau can offer Europeans a continuous North Atlantic security infrastructure, so even if Washington has moved away from the NATO alliance, it would always involve countries beyond Europe.

“The problems that Europe is faced with are not only European, they are part of the Western community of states, they are a Euro-Atlantic challenge.”

Saiteman added that the stormy ship on Friday at the White House has pierced the “pious wishes” that Washington would always protect Europe.

“It is really difficult to deny what is going on, when you see the fights on television.”

A few days before this confrontation, Starmer assaulted among some Canadians during his own visit to Washington by choosing to push Trump’s speech on the annexation of Canada.

Trudeau would not say if it was acceptable, nor if he had raised the problem with Starmer, whose team did not allow the media to attend their bilateral meeting with Trudeau.

Trudeau has rather referred to Starmer recently by saying to the British Parliament that Great Britain and Canada are long-standing allies to shared values.

Trudeau was to speak with King Charles before returning to Ottawa on Monday.

“We will discuss important questions for Canada and Canadians,” said Trudeau. “And I can tell you that nothing seems more important for Canadians at the moment than defending our sovereignty and independence.”
