It is a motto that Kenitha Pittman learned from her parents and uses every day that she directs VIP Loc Studio.

After more than a decade as a hairdresser, Pittman says that keeping a flourishing business takes work.

“We have to work very hard to succeed. It’s not successful, but staying success is the challenge, “said Pittman.

“I am 63 years old with a brand new start -up business,” said Renata Cole. “Not something I planned about it. I came for an landing, but I am in takeoff. On the track.

Renata Cole is the owner of Balm of Gilead Skincare. She said that black business owners can be more effective by working on each other.

James Macklin cuts his hair in his shop, Bied Blades, for 10 months. He said he was a prosperous business owner, you need a plan.

“You must understand the business and marketing basis. I think I understood it well. So I know how to get my face out there, then you really have to execute, ”said Macklin.

Macklin told Heartland News that he had noticed that black companies had trouble exposure. This is why he focuses on helping others in the same shoes.

“If you are a person who reminds someone the business, it could just be supporting enough to bring him the funds he needs to keep his business alive to go to the next level,” said Macklin.

If you are looking to start your own business, these owners have good advice.

“If you are your product, then you just have to start comforting,” said Macklin.

“I say that if you still have a dream, it is not too late,” said Cole.

“Keep your faith because God has obtained you,” said Pittman.

According to Pew Research, black companies increased by more than 20% from 2017 to 2022 from more than 20%.
