With a ribbon cup to officially end the construction of Friday, February 21, the Fiesta Sports Foundation celebrated its 15th playground and fifth in partnership with SRP.
“Bringing the playgrounds to the communities in need linked directly to the mission of the Fiesta Sports Foundation to serve through our young people, sports and education pillars. All the major programs that imply that young people must be accompanied by quality game spaces to improve personal development,” said the Fiesta Sports Foundation and Vice-President of Community Community. Kristina Chumpol. “All children need the opportunity to be children! A playground offers this and much more and we look forward to seeing Hope’s Center families experience them.”
For the first time since The Hope Women’s Center opened its cool space in 2013, fully functional playground will be available. It replaces a dirt patch area which was not without danger for the game, giving an essential addition. More than 50 volunteers have helped give life to a design inspired by children and women themselves with their dreams and their illustrations providing the construction framework.
“SRP is proud to associate with Fiesta Sports Foundation for the annual annual construction of the Hope Women’s Center with Coolidge,” said Michelle Speer, strategist for the main community commitment at SRP. “By establishing a fun and safe play area for children, we don’t just build a playground – we feed an environment where mothers can focus on education, mentoring and personal growth, knowing that their children can take advantage of a safe space to play.”
The place of coolidage, one of the six Hope Women’s Center locations across Arizona, recently launched a youth program for children from birth to five years and the new playground will play a role in this programming.
In addition to the playing field, a personalized wall painting was painted on site by Lakota Mossey, art teacher at the Liberty primary school in Scottsdale and 2024 Palo Verde Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers Return.
Founded in 1984 in Apache Junction as a small crisis pregnancy center, Hope Women’s Center provided a refuge for women and girls at risk for more than 40 years. Hope Women’s Center serves, teaches and supports vulnerable women and adolescent girls in difficult life situations thanks to individual mentoring, educational programs, advice and more.
In addition to its six locations, Hope Women’s Center associates with local non-profit organizations to provide services to women who may not have access to one of its physical centers via the Hope on the Road program.
Since its beginnings, Hope Women’s Center has had an impact on more than 9,000 lives.
“We are very grateful to the Fiesta Sports Foundation and SRP for their generous supply of an incredible playground for children and families who come to the Hope Women’s Center,” said Tammy Abernethy, CEO of Hope’s Center. “While mothers take lessons and receive healing and support, their children now have an incredible place to play, laugh and dream! Thank you Fiesta Sports Foundation and SRP for your support for women and children in our Coolidge community!”
The playing field will meet the needs of coolridge for the years to come, strengthening the commitment of the Fiesta Sports Foundation to serve the whole Arizona.
