2025 Gwinnett County Regional Science, Engineering + Innovation Fair: Inspire the next generation of leaders in science and class engineering at the career
THE 2025 Gwinnett County Regional Science, Engineering + Innovation Fair, scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2025, Mark the 47th anniversary of this prestigious event that highlights students in exceptional sciences. The event – which will take place at Gas South District, 6400 Sugarloaf Pkwy, In Duluth—The includes more than 800 projects produced by students from 115 elementary, intermediaries and secondary schools, a special entity and five schools that are not part of the Gwinnett County public schools operating in the county. These projects, representing the best of student research and engineering in the county of Gwinnett, present the creativity and innovation of more than 1,600 students in kindergarten in the 12th year.
More than 1,100 students from the college and secondary representing each GCPS cluster participate, making this year’s competition the largest affiliate in Regeneron International Science & Engineering in the country. Students will participate in 22 Project categories, including Biomedical engineering,, Cell and molecular biology, environmental engineering, And Robotics and smart machines. They will be judged by science professionals, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) who will assess them on scientific quality, precision, creativity, engineering precision, experimental design and impact .
Jessica HoldenThe Director of College and Secondary Sciences of the GCPS, is impressed by this year’s bids. “With project titles like ‘Employing polyphenols for the treatment of pancreatic cancer » And A “portable microplastic detector for water using UV-Vis-Nir spectroscopy”, Students this year demonstrate incredible knowledge and scientific skills, creativity and the application of their learning to have a positive impact, ”shares Holden. “Thanks to their projects, students explore the challenges of the real world and develop innovative solutions – engineering prototypes to solve daily problems with technically sophisticated innovation to improve the fields of science and engineering – students work on an impact on the company for the greatest good. ”
The youngest scientists and engineers of the event will have the opportunity to present their projects in the elementary fair, which develops the interest and talent of STEM students by inspiring students to solve local problems using design thought. Students from 74 GCPS elementary schools will participate and share their solutions to challenges, such as the increase in pollinators in their community and will help develop recycling solutions for their playgrounds. In addition, more than 1,100 students attended our Play 2 And Pre-K programs I had the opportunity to carry out projects in class in their local schools. Their projects will be presented during the regional fair this Thursday.
Kristin Luthi, The Director of Sciences of the GCPS K-5, is enthusiastic about the opportunity for elementary school students in Gwinnett. “The introduction of students is subject to an early age laid the basics of future innovation and critical thinking,” shares Luthi. “By arousing curiosity in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, we inspire young learners to explore new ideas, to meet challenges and to become problems of problems that will shape the world of tomorrow.”
In addition to participating in in -depth interviews with judges, students at each level will have the opportunity to participate in STEM workshops which offer students activities and means to engage with more than 20 local community partners and global to find out more about Stem Carrières, Skills and Opportunities.
The sponsors will grant more than $ 30,000 in scholarships, special awards and project progress in Gwinnett Regional Science in Gwinnett, Fair Innovation + Innovation. The main elementary projects for each specified problem will be awarded. Place awards, special awards, scholarships and progress at Georgia Sciences and Engineering Fair will be given to the best projects in college and secondary in the 22 categories. The great Award of Top High School Projects will include a trip paid to expenses to compete alongside students from more than 75 countries at the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair in Columbus, Ohioin May. Prices will be announced on March 3, 2025.
