Article invited by Paulina Assmann, CEO of Sequre Quantum and member of the Consultative Commission for Quantum Technologies in Chile.
I will never forget when I was told, “You have to speak perfect English for people to believe you.” Worse, when they assumed that all technological progress from Latin America was simply copied from elsewhere. These declarations reflect a persistent perception: the idea that our region cannot lead to the technological border, that we are not able to adopt what others create.

This perception is wrong. As CEO of Sequre Quantum, I run a company that does not only develop deep technology but already offers cutting -edge quantum solutions in the world. Our generator of quantum -certification random numbers in real time (QRNG) proves that Latin America is not only an innovation consumer – it is a creator of critical technologies for global digital security.
While the CEOs of TOP of companies like IBM, Google and Microsoft underline the urgency of preparing for the preparation of Quantum safe In our region, this technology is already a reality. We have the talent, the infrastructure and the strategic vision of competing and directing in areas such as quantum cybersecurity, ultra-preccimate sensors and secure telecommunications.
This progression is not an isolated case. In recent months, Latin America has shown its ability to develop a border technology for the region, with projects like Latamgpt, an artificial intelligence model created locally that rivals global actors. This is a clear example that we do not need to be simple consumers of technology; We can be creators and exporters of innovation.
However, one of the biggest challenges we are still faced with is the lack of visibility and recognition. Despite our technological achievements, global stories rarely include Latin America in conversation on quantum progress. It is not only a supervision – it is a missed opportunity. The world must expand its perspective and recognize that peak quantum research and marketing occur beyond traditional technological poles.
Global industry must recognize this new reality: Latin America does not only adopt technology – it creates it, scaling and delivery. Our startups solve real problems with solutions ready to be integrated into the global digital infrastructure. The difference between delay and directing in the quantum era will depend on the speed with which companies can adopt advanced technologies – constantly where they come.
The quantum future is already there, and Latin America actively builds it. The question is not whether we can develop quantum technology – the question is: are you ready to adopt it? Because if you don’t look to Latin America now, you’re already late.
