In the United States, an aeronautical company has published images showing a conceptual version of its flying car performing a vertical takeoff before flying over an SUV.
Jim Dukhovny, CEO of Alef Aeronautics, told BBC’s main technological journalist, Chris Vallance, whom he had thousands of pre -orders and hoped to start production in the 12 months.
For around $ 300,000 (£ 237,000), the company claims that buyers will obtain an electric flying car with an expected 110 km (68 miles). But taking a friend for a lap can be delicate – the cockpit has only enough room for a person and a half.
As Vallance points out, Alef Aeronautics is not the only ones trying to take off with buyers, and there are huge technological and regulatory obstacles to overcome.
