Shawn Murréy was amazed and honored by the success of his moving company based on Bowling Green.
The two -year -old Murrey movers have recorded more than 300 movements of different types. The work went to rearrange heavy furniture in the same house and to move a family of a BG house in another to help students from Bowling Green State University, to move their personal effects to and from their natal cities and move the owners Local in houses as far as Tennessee, Florida and Nebraska.
He also has experience in the commercial market, helping companies to move locations and reconfigure existing spaces. His first international trip is in preparation for a local resident who moves to Canada.
Due to the growth of the company, Murrey has only gone from the only full -time employee and uses part -time aid in the event of three full -time and three part -time employees.
His latest achievements include certification as a business belonging to a minority and accreditation by the Better Business Bureau.
Murrey is particularly enthusiastic about the possibilities that support business certification belonging to minorities. “I will be able to obtain government contracts and I will have access to subsidies and loans,” he said. The designation also allows it to network with companies, industrial associations and potential customers.
He plans to meet a minority commercial mentor from the Toledo section of the Small Business Association and hopes to find other business leaders with business experience and the logistics industry.
“Even for me after two years, I don’t know what I don’t know, so I can’t wait to learn”, whether on the minority commercial portal to understand the process for government contracts that might be there Or best practices for your business. “I understand that I need help, and I know that I have to invest in consultations with people who are more well informed than me.”
He has already benefited from the members of the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce, the Bowling Green Exchange Club and the Business Network. Murrey also continued to designate the Better Business Bureau due to the value behind the organizational name. He wants people to know that he is a trustworthy and credible business owner.
Good service = references
Murrey is proud of himself and his team on attitude, care and attention to detail. Because “each movement is unique”, he particularly takes care to listen carefully to each client to understand the best way to do the work in his budget.
“If your whole house is a seven -hour job and you have a budget for five hours, we can be the heavy weightlifting. I’m going to suggest taking the big things and you can take the small boxes, “he said.
“The objective is to make it work for both of us” to do it safely and that everything is suitable, he said.
“We know that moving services are not cheap, but we want to do our best for you. If it means that we shine your sidewalks and your aisle while you stay warm, we will do what is needed, “he said. “Because the results are an honor that you have chosen us.”

The criticisms were good and the comments are brilliant. Many customers have started the relationships he has established through the community and organizations he has joined. The positive comments of the work he has accomplished for university teachers and staff, companies in the region and local residents have pushed his business.
“Wack of word of mouth goes from forest fires,” he said. “Almost 90% of the movements were references” and many of his colleagues from the exchange club.
He also appreciated the links with Wendy Headley, Aa Green Realty and local life facilities.
Murrey likes to help individuals leave their family homes in Brookdale, Willows and heritage facilities. “I love doing this because they trust me to move them. So, me being there, I am not only a mover, I am like a grandson, the uncle or the little brother who is here in town who can tell them, “we have that.”
Future plans
“The movements have become larger and more frequent,” said Murrey, but a large part of his earnings returns to the company.
He bought many of the necessary tools and materials necessary for the moving company, but there are specialty tools that he could use to facilitate work. Caps for large items such as pianos and safes are not necessary but would help the process.
Murrey also dreams of having his own moving truck with the Murrey’s Movers logo rather than having to rent u-haul trucks or thoughts for big movements. Having a moving truck and a trailer would also save time and a boon in its net profit.
He hopes that commercial certification belonging to a minority will help finance some of its future plans to help the company develop. “I have a Murrey’s Movers website go strong, with my Facebook page“He said. “The final goal is to have land, a big barn and several trucks, but for the moment, I just need to keep moving forward.”
