He said it included alleged violations of the Canada Elections Act, without disclosing “important facts”, inaccurate financial reports and other violations of electoral finances.
The committee determined that the violations were “extremely serious,” added Ismaël.

The decision comes one day after the Globe and Mail said that the party had contacted Dhalla with several questions about the finances of its campaign and the possible allegations of foreign interference.

Dhalla said that the party had questions about some of the donations made in his campaign, but that none of them was really a problem.
