Amsterdam – Stellantis NV has now unveiled STLA Autodrive 1.0, the first automated driving feature for the development of the company, offering hands -free and eyes (level 3 of SAE). Stla Autodrive is a key pillar of Stellantis technological strategyAlongside Stla Brain and Stla Smart Cockpit, progressing intelligence, automation and vehicle user experience.

Stla Autodrive allows automated driving at speeds up to 60 km / h (37 MPH), reducing the pilot’s workload in stop traffic and GO and restore precious time.

Ideal for commuters in dense urban areas, Stla Autodrive will allow drivers to temporarily engage in unrealized tasks such as watching a film, catching up for e-mails, reading a book or simply looking out of the window, recovering a time precious.

“Helping drivers to get the most out of their time is a priority,” said Ned Curic, in chief of Stellantis in engineering and technology manager. “By manipulating routine driving tasks, Stla Autodrive will improve the driving experience, which makes time while driving more efficient and more pleasant.”

The system is designed for simplicity: when traffic and environmental conditions align, drivers are informed that Stla Autodrive is available. Once activated by a physical button, the system takes control, maintaining safe distances, speed adjustment and steering management and braking depending on traffic.

Stla Autodrive constantly monitors its environment through an advanced suite of sensors to ensure high precision consciousness and reliable operation, even at night or in difficult weather conditions such as light rains or a road spray. To maintain consistent performance, an automated sensor cleaning system maintains clear critical components for optimal reliability and feature.

Stellantis engineers refined Stla Autodrive to react quickly and naturally, ensuring that the system feels fluid, predictable and human under real conditions. Whether it is to maintain distances in complete safety or to adapt to the fusion of traffic, the system works transparently to provide a confident and stress -free reader.

At higher speeds, Stla Autodrive offers the convenience of the adaptive cruise control and track centering functions in level 2 (practical) and level 2+ (hands-offs, eyes) modes.

Built on evolutionary architecture, Stla Autodrive is ready for deployment and can be adapted to global markets through Stellantis brand vehicles, guaranteeing a smooth deployment because commercial strategies align with market demand. The system is also connected to the cloud, allowing continuous improvements thanks to live updates and the integration of data in real time for optimized performance.

Stla Autodrive complies with the regulations applicable in the markets supported and obliges drivers to sit, surrounded and ready to assume control when invited. It also respects the regional driver’s driving laws, including telephone use restrictions.

Stla Autodrive is designed as an evolving platform, with current research and future progress potentially capable of unlocking:

  • Operation of hands and eyes at higher speeds, up to 95 km / h (59 MPH).
  • Improved off -road automation for certain models.

By focusing on safety, flexibility and long -term adaptability, Stla Autodrive represents the next step from Stellantis to more intelligent, comfortable and intuitive driving.
