Amarillo, Texas (KFDA) – The Kids Inc. Rockrose Sports Park is ready to start construction after making changes to its construction team.
The changes include a local general entrepreneur, an architect and an engineer.
“We are ready to start, but we are patient and we know that there are just other things that should take place. But all the people involved now are completely local, which allows us to speak a little more easily to our engineers, our general entrepreneur and our architect, “said the president and chief executive officer of Kids Inc., Jimmy Lackey .
Lackey says that the exterior complex will welcome more than seven different sports.
This includes eight baseball and softball fields and 31 football fields.
Rockrose Sports Park will be a 90-acres complex with 60 acres of lit lawn right next to the I-27 and Hollywood Road.
“We were given 90 acres of Rockrose development lands, but this land is only dirt and there is no infrastructure. There are no public services, there are no roads. There is nothing of these things in place, so it takes a little time to put everything into play, “said Lackey.
Lackey says they are still $ 5 million to reach a goal of $ 30 million.
