Punjab Minister Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Balbir Singh, launched an initiative for the prevention, control and screening of current non -transmissible diseases (MNT) through the state on Thursday.
As part of the initiative, the Minister said that people over 30 will be projected for common MNTs, including diabetes, hypertension and three common, breast and cervical cancers. Screening of these diseases is an integral part of the provision of services within the framework of the National Program for the Control of Non-Transmitted Diseases, he said.
He said screening will be carried out in primary health centers, AADMI / Ayushman Arogya Kendras, community health centers, district hospitals and subdivision hospitals.
