Customers were informed in early February that the club would be closed for three months and that the reimbursements would not be reissued.
Adam Deutsch and his fiancée have $ 5,000 in deposits attached to the Halifax Club and are now rushing to find a new place to hold their marriage in May.

The place, located in the heart of the city center of the city, was founded in 1862 as a “private social club for managers and political leaders”, according to its website.

Jasko Razic, a seller who worked closely with the Halifax Club, says that many of their customers have been affected. They had 15 weddings already reserved on the site for 2025.

The Halifax Club was operated by the Caryi group, which is currently in an insolvency after the death of the director of companies, Steve Caryi, in December 2023.
Since then, his family has failed to sell the properties.
His sister, Joanne Caryi, is the current owner. Global News contacted it to comment but had not received a response from the deadline on Wednesday afternoon.
