Hastings, Neb. (KSNB) – The Hastings municipal council will discuss an proposed entertainment district and examine the impact of the financing of the tif during the working session of the municipal council on Monday evening.
According to the agenda, the entertainment district offered would have an impact on the companies in downtown Hastings and allow restaurants, bars and brasseries in the district to sell alcohol in common areas.
The designation also has restrictions such as special cups for consuming alcohol in common areas and closing the city streets during events where drinks are consumed.
The proposal for an entertainment district could improve community events and help companies regularly create a downtown and a more dynamic community.
Part of the plan would allow a path to the dining room of the sidewalks and would allow the consumption of beer and spirits. It would also allow community events to provide alcohol consumption in an environment that does not require temporary chain link fences or to count to a special designated license from an approved establishment.
The municipal council will discuss the opportunities that come from the entertainment district offered during the meeting on Monday evening.
During the work session, the municipal council will also examine impact Incretion (TIF) funding on the city of Hastings.
The meeting is expected to take place on Monday at 5.30 p.m. at Hastings municipal airport.
