Skybound Entertainment acquires the media in lighting

Multiplateform studio Skybound Entertainment has acquired a mobile advertising technology company Maple support From Shamrock Capital.

Skybound, the studio behind franchises like invincible and The Walking Dead, said that the acquisition would support its expansion plans by adding new sources of income, a management technology for proprietary applications and a solid base of subscribers.

The acquisition will allow Skybound to take advantage of the expertise of Maple Media in mobile application operations, which led to more than 600 million downloads for life, to provide stories on several platforms, including comics, Video games, television and mobile.

New ways to deliver

“Bringing Maple Media to the Skybounds universe changes the game,” said Skybound CEO David Alpert. “This allows us to connect our great intellectual property directly to our audience.

He added: “We are impatient to build and extend these opportunities with Michael Ritter, founder and CEO, David Bos, COO and the rest of the Maple media team, because the partnership strengthens our ability to connect the content directly to an audience like never before.

“Together, we unlock new ways to deliver to our creators and fans while remaining faithful to our mission to put them first.”
