The Prime Minister of Alberta, Danielle Smith, says that she has asked all her ministers for their recommendations after a report has surfaced that one of them asked that the Minister of Health be transferred to Another portfolio while allegations of corruption were investigated.
Smith’s declaration during her telephone radio program at the province’s scale came when she was invited to confirm whether the Minister of Infrastructure Peter Guthrie sent a note asking that Adriana Lagrange be transferred to other jobs during surveys.
Smith replied that “if you want to get honest comments, you must be ready to hear what people have to say”, adding that “not everyone agrees with Minister Guthrie”.
The Smith government and the Alberta Auditor General are investigating allegations that focus on a continuation of unjustified dismissal filed this week by the former Alberta Health Services, Athana Mentzelopoulos.
Mentzellopoulos, in his state of complaint, alleges that Lagrange fought and finally dismissed her after decreasing to sign excessively lucrative contracts between the government and the clinics of private surgery.

Smith told his radio audience on Saturday that Lagrange had been withdrawn from decision -making in the file, but that it does “incredible and important work” to refocus the health system and that its work is particularly important in the six next months.

“You cannot make a reckless decision as long as you do not know if there are reprehensible acts. Currently, we have allegations in a statement requesting a lot of money for a payment, and we have to put it in this context, “said Smith.

On Friday, the CBC said that it had obtained a memo where Guthrie said that Lagrange and the best health official Andre Tremblay should be moved to other jobs while the scandal is studied.
The email of Guthrie, sent to his colleagues from the cabinet on Thursday, said that the severity of the allegations required that Tremblay be moved, Lagrange has moved to another cabinet portfolio and that the RCMP be informed if there are potential concerns of Criminal behavior.
Global News did not see Guthrie’s email, but in a statement sent by e-mail to the Canadian press on Friday, Smith’s office did not dispute the veracity of the note but supported Lagrange.
The complaints of Mentzellopoulos were not tested in court.
Friday, Lagrange spokesperson Jessi Rampton said that the minister had not commentary and referred to a previous statement that Lagrange had published this week in which she declared that many allegations were false while D Others had to be examined.
