Police from Surrey, British Columbia, says three people were killed and that a person suffered potentially fatal injuries after a collision of three vehicles at the eastern end of the Pattillo bridge.
Investigators say that the collision occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Friday in the tracks in southern direction and involved a semi-Tranic truck and two passenger vehicles.
“Three members of firefighters and members of British Columbia administered safeguarding measures to three occupants on the scene, but tragically they were declared deceased,” said the General Staff Sergeant. Lindsey Houghton from the Surrey police service.
“Another occupant of one of the passenger vehicles was transported to the hospital, and he was there during the night for vital medical treatments.”
Surrey police said the accident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Friday and involved a semi-camon and two passenger vehicles.

Houghton said the victims understood two men and a woman, whom he described as “young adults”, and said investigators were still trying to determine their relationship.
The driver of the truck remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, which Houghton describes as “complex”.
On Friday, there is no word yet on what caused the fatal accident on the Patullo bridge, the second fatal accident on the bridge of almost a century in less than a month.

There is not yet a word to know if the speed or disability were factors in the accident, but Houghton asks anyone who may have witnessed or who has camera images to call the Surrey police 604-599-0502.

This is the second fatal accident in less than a month on the Pattillo deck.
The Friday evening accident was the second fatal accident on the Patullo bridge in less than a month. On January 26, a woman was killed and two other people transported to hospital after a stack of five vehicles on the bridge.

“The Pattillo bridge has had an unhappy and sometimes tragic story – there have been a number of serious collisions during the decade,” said Houghton.
“As always, we ask people to slow down, join speed limits and drive according to conditions and give you a lot of space between vehicles.”
“Often, when large trucks, semi-camons and public transport vehicles are on deck, they must take more than the only way because the tracks are so narrow on this bridge,” added Houghton. “Take your time. We want everyone to get to your destination safely.”
