The solid direction of President Trump led to the release of an American unjustly detained in Bélarus and two political prisoners. I would like to particularly thank the Lithuanian government for its cooperation and its aid – they remain a real ally and friend. I would also like to thank my team in consular cases, the office of the special presidential envoy for hostage affairs and the European and Eurasian affairs office for all the hard work that has been devoted to securing these versions. We remain attached to the release of other American citizens in Bélarus and elsewhere. We call the release of nearly 1,300 political prisoners who remain in prison in the Belarus.
