Appleton (Wluk) – When the Appleton Jaycees area announced 2023 would be his last year of organization of the annual celebration of Appleton fireworks – The community felt the change.

“We have been here for about 6 hours and there is nothing, super disappointing,” said Ivana Green, who was at the event in 2024.

Christina Tanck, who was also at Memorial Park in 2024, said: “I would like sellers and music.”

Monday evening, the Parks and Leisure Committee voted to put things on the right track.

He goes ahead with the event under the direction of Wisconsin Entertainment Group.

Appleton parks and leisure director Dean Gazza told Fox 11 Plus on their plans.

“Right now, I know that the group has sought to bring groups for the day, bringing a lot of entertainment for children for the day, naturally ending with fireworks,” he said.

Last year, the city of Appleton organized a reduced event.

The city did not have the budget, the staff or the time to make a celebration observed in previous years.

As a result, there was a significant lack of food trucks, children’s activities and entertainment in the hours preceding fireworks.

The widen Katie Van Zeeland spoke to the community response at the meeting. “People who are disappointed, people who are very happy to recover fireworks but have estimated that with everyone going into this park to sit and wait, it would be a much better environment to have Music, food, etc., “she said. “So I’m happy to see it’s back.”

Gazza said this year, they are ahead of the curve.

“It may seem a bit early, but for everyone to be aligned, all the groups are already starting to get involved throughout the summer,” he said. “And they want to indulge in everyone, get all activities, get all the rentals in place.”
