New bar dedicated to female sports
A new leading sports bar is expected to open its doors next month, it dedicated to college and professional female sports.
Austin, Texas – A first sports bar of its kind comes to Austin zone, this dedicated to female sports.
The owners say it’s more than just a place to watch the match; This is part of a movement to unite women.
What we know:
A new pub called The 1972 arrives at Guadalupe Street, at Old Moody’s Kitchen and Bar, a few steps from the University of Texas on the Austin campus.
The name is a tribute to the historic year when the title IX was adopted, a law that has changed the female sports landscape.

The new ad will exclusively show the sports of college and professional women on their televisions.
The space renovations are underway, but ultimately, the place will star in large screens with female sports all year round, souvenirs signed on the walls, a extensive menu and a welcoming atmosphere for all fans – Y including men.
The pub should open its doors in March, just in time for the NCAA basketball tournament.
The background:
For the co -owners Debra Hallum and Marlene Duplessis, the vision was simple.
“To give female athletes and female sports a platform, a place to put them on a pedestal and to arouse the interest and the love of female sports,” said Hallum.

The pair had the idea of visiting other sports bars with a commercial model similar to Portland and Seattle, but they saw nothing here.
“Whenever we wanted to watch a female sports game, we had to ask the bar, the ad to put it. And then every time they put it, there was no sound. Or they would do it , as soon as a male game begins, they were just going to change it, “said Duplessis.
Why you should worry about it:
It will be the first sports advertising dedicated to female sports in Austin.
“It really means a lot because we have a lot of sports bars on the campus, a lot, a couple to whom we have always been. But I think it’s cool that we finally have a bit like that will play one for all Women sports, I suppose.

“Female sports are very physical, very athletic. It is very interesting. It is entertaining. Some are just as fast and wonderful as any man’s sport. And yes, I think it’s right Browing because people are open to this and they see how entertaining and great it can be, “said Hallum.
This is a movement that the owners say they are proud to be a part.
“We would like to consider it as a movement, you know, and we are part of this movement. We have not started it. And we will simply continue, you know, and I hope other people will join,” Said Duplessis.
