One day after the Wharton graduate in 1968 and President Donald Trump signed a decree prohibited transgender athletes of female sports, the NCAA announced a change in policy officially restoring female sports with biologically female athletes, with immediate effect.
The NCAA announced the policy change Thursday after its council of governors voted to update the policy of the League after executive decree. The NCAA now prohibits students-athletes assigned by men at birth or students-athletes assigned to birth that started hormone therapy in competition in a female NCAA team.
A request for comments was left with Penn Athletics.
Although the policy prohibits these athletes from participating, it allows transgender women or student-athletes assigned to birth who started hormone therapy to practice in a female NCAA team and to receive all the other advantages of students- athletes of this team.
The new policy also establishes that “regardless of sex awarded to gender birth or identity, a student-athlete can participate (practice and competition) in male sports of the NCAA, assuming that they respond to all other NCAA eligibility conditions. ”
The new policy also follows three Penn swimmers pursuit Penn, Harvard University, Ivy League and NCAA for having enabled the graduate and transgender athlete lia Thomas to 2022 to participate in swimming and female diving in Penn, as well as the announcement of a Survey of the Ministry of Education alleging that Penn violated title IX by allowing Thomas to compete.

“The NCAA finally pulled out of their asses and decided to ban men from female sports,” wrote a career of activism with Thomas statement on X.
