The American Heart Association and the NFL ALUMNI Association share the 8 stages to stimulate cardiac health in a collaboration focused on improving the health of men

New Orleans, February 7, 2025 – According to the just released American Heart Association 2025 Heart Disease & AVC Statistics ReportHeart disease is the main cause of death for men in the United States.(1) This is why the American Heart Association, a world force changing the future of health for all, and the National Football League Alumni Association (former NFL) is associated with a male health campaign to stimulate heart health thanks to the promotion of the association Life is essential 8™ – The eight steps that everyone should take to achieve ideal cardiovascular health(2).

“As the oldest and largest voluntary organization in the country dedicated to the fight against heart disease and cerebral vascular accidents for over 100 years, we help people reach their maximum potential to live longer and more healthy, “said Nancy Brown, CEO of the American Association du Coeur. “We are proud to work with the NFL Alumni Association because the two organizations work to meet people where they are to inspire them to defend their health.”

The campaign was announced on Radio Row at the Super Bowl Lix in New Orleans on Thursday. Chaired by Ken Coffey, former main vice-president of NFL Safety and former NFL students, the social media initiative focuses on improving the measures used to define optimal heart health by the American Heart Association known association under the name of Life is essential 8: four indicators related to cardiovascular and metabolic health (blood pressure, cholesterol, blood and body sugar index); and 4 behavioral factors / lifestyle (smoking status, physical activity, sleep and diet). Recent studies have shown that adults who follow a lifestyle in heart health measured by life of life 8 tend to live longer without chronic disease.

Collaboration includes eight former NFL students who highlight the pillars of the essential 8 of life to help players with NFL retirement and the general public include both health factors as well as improvement opportunities. Ambassadors include retired NFL retirement players, including chapters of the NFL former chapters in the United States. The campaign will include public service announcements (PSA) and will focus mainly over two periods – men’s health week, from June 10 to 16, and the month of Hispanic heritage, from September 15 -October. 15

“As an athletes, we recognize the importance of being proactive about our health,” said Brad Edwards, former security of the NFL All-Pro and chief executive officer of the former NFL. “We are impatient to team up with the American Heart Association to promote the eight” essential “stages that everyone should take to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke and other cardiovascular conditions.”

In the United States, about 1 in 5 people have optimal heart health according to the American Heart Association(3). A free tool is available to help improve these figures by allowing individuals to better understand their cardiac health score to understand their individual health more precisely. My life controlIt is an assessment based on most of the science of life 8. The tool poses questions about health behavior, factors and well-being to provide health information. Participants receive a personal health score as well as a personalized plan with the specific eight steps to help them start to live a healthier life. Supporting good heart and brain health helps reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke and other important health problems.
