The writer of Canton Ed Balint’s benchmark takes a look at what is happening in the arts, music and entertainment in Stark County, including events this weekend and later in February.
1. Canton First Friday has a golf theme
Too cold golf in February? Not with First Friday Festivities in downtown Canton, where 18 holes will be distributed among companies and other places.
“By Tee on a Little Green” will take place on Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Dashboards will be available in participating companies to play six, nine or 18 holes and participate in a competition to have a chance to win a package of gift cards.
The Golf Greens will be at the 19th hole; Arcadia grille; Boomyada; Cantonology; Coffee shop carp diem; Lounge culture; Cheese from the world cheese; George’s Lounge; Grapes in a glass; Julliard Arts Center; Simply imagine by Twi; Milestone; Miss Larana’s alchemical apothemical; Patina Arts Center; Silo Arts Studio; The Vagabond Cafe; Visit Canton; and the WoodSShop brasserie.

There will also be a Behavioral health of children and adolescents Treasure hunt. Participants will have the chance to win prizes by seeking the city center of brand golf balls for the behavioral health of the child and adolescents, which gives you the entry into a special raffle.
An Open Studio Studio showcase “Wall to Wall” will be 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Hub Art Factory, 336 Sixth St. NW.
Canton comedy boom will have a free show at 8 p.m. in the event space at the bottom of the Patina Arts Center, 324 Cleveland Ave. Nw. The actors in northeast of Ohio will be presented.
The film “Wicked” will be screened at 7:30 p.m. at the Canton Palace Theater, 605 Market Ave. N. General admission tickets are $ 7 and can be purchased from cantonpalacetre.org/ or at the door.
2. Pro struggle at Stark County Fairgroups
Neopro struggle Return to the art hall on February 15 at Stark County Fairgrounds.
“White Noise” will feature the Champion of struggle Neopro Ashton Day and the new women’s champion.
The wrestlers will also be in the running to become the first champion of Neopro Wrestling Great Lakes, according to a press release.

3. Party mystery of the murder of Valentine’s Day at Auriche
The beautiful Auricle + Bar will organize a festival of mystery of murder of Valentine’s Day Interactive on February 14.
The guests will play a suspect of murder or a detective while discovering clues left on the crime scene and question each other. The mystery murder on the theme of the gangster takes place in Chicago in the 1940s.
The goal is to unmask the killer. Each guest who properly solves the mystery receives a “Super Sleuth certificate”. Similar to playing the board game “Clue”, the event is presented by Get Away with Murder, Inc.

4. Ke Martino Art Show at the Strauss Studios
The professional artist of the mixed media Joe Martino will open a solo exhibition on Saturday at the Strauss Studios in downtown Canton.
The longtime resident of Stark County will launch a new collection of paintings from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. during a reception at the Studios Studios gallery, 236 Walnut Ave. BORN.
“Mixed Media Magic: Artistic Alchemy” will be exhibited until March 14.
“Models of nature, physical processes and great abstract painters of the past have all helped to trigger my creativity,” said Martino in a press release from Strauss Studios.
The jazz guitarist, Dave Marchione, will perform at the reception, which will also include a brief conference by the artist and light refreshments.
Martino’s mixed art mixed art was presented in juried art exhibitions and festivals across the country. He is also a former STARK County science teacher. His mixed and abstract paintings focus on color and heavy textures. Science and models of nature serve from the bottom.
5. ‘Golden Girls’ Tribute Show in the canton of Jackson
A tribute show “Golden Girls” will take place on February 15 the pizzaria in the canton of Jackson.
Stardust Dinner Theater will present the tribute show, which includes dinner. Three popular episodes of the television show “The Golden Girls” will be recreated on stage by actors from the region.

6. ‘Vivival in vinyl’
An edition of Valentine’s Day of “Vinyl revival: Record Swap & Shop from Stark County “will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on February 8 at Auriche, 201 Cleveland Ave. NW in downtown Canton.
Auricle, vinyl ERIE ST in Massillon and Quaset Hut in Canton joins forces with the event. A DJ will play music and the bar of any will be open.
Early admission from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. costs $ 5. Admission from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. costs $ 2. Money and credit will be accepted at the door.
7. Bourbon & Blues Orchestra Fundraiser
“Bourbon & Blues”, a fundraising for the Canton Symphony Orchestra, will take place at 6.30pm on February 10 at the Auriche bar coming + in downtown Canton.
Standard tickets cost $ 65 and include admission to the concert, appetizers and a Bourbon flight. Premium tickets cost $ 90 and include a bracelet for the open bar. Bourbon tasting stations will be available.

Presented by the Craig Covey LGBT & Diversity Pride Fund, “Bourbon & Blues” will set out the music of Becky Boyd & The Groove Trainwhich is led by singer Becky Boyd.
Basket Raffles will also be available, all profits benefiting from education, entertainment and community programs of Canton Symphony Orchestra.
8. Rock hymns by candlelight
A concert of candles recalling the rock hymns of the 80s will take place on Saturday in Lions Lincoln Theater in downtown Massillon.
The songs temporarily planned to be interpreted include “Africa” by Toto; “Each breath you take” by the police; “Everywhere” by Fleetwood Mac; “Run on this hill” by Kate Bush; “Another brick in the wall” by Pink Floyd; “Without or without you” by U2 “; and” Sweet Child ‘O Mine “by Guns’ N Roses.
Tickets$ 13 to $ 29, can be purchased for the concert of 6.30 p.m. www.lionslincolntheatre.org/.
