One famous Bagel de Montréal Shop has unveiled a new turn to its traditional basic food.
Fairmont Bagel, one of the city’s longtime institutions that attract tourists from around the world, began to sell a red and white patriotic bagel on Wednesday, nicknamed Canada Bagel.
“The atmosphere was dark, so I thought of doing something that would encourage people and excite them to eat something new,” Rhonda Shlafman, co -owner of Fairnt Bagel to Global News.
FAIRMONT BAGEL, one of the city’s long -standing institutions, began to sell its Rouge and White Patriotic Canadian Bagel to transmit a message south of the border.

She said that with the recent movement to buy local in the threat of US President Donald Trump’s prices on Canadian exports, Canada’s Bagel was born.

The circular sesame seed bread is red and white braided and offers a soft and tasty consistency of Fairmount. But Shlafman says that their goal is to pack a powerful message.
Montreal has been taken in a rivalry of Bagel with the United States for decades – in particular with New York. Gourmets of all ages, on both sides of the border have sounded, comparing the size, texture and taste of bagels.
While Shlafman knows the debate on the city makes a better bagel, she says that she is not trying to prepare a war with us, the manufacturers of Bagels. She says she just wants her shop to make a statement.
