Understand Latin American health at the Adelantando Healthcare conference

DoctorTHE Joseph A. Latin Institut Unannue is delighted to host the Adelantando: Latino health care conference Thursday, February 20, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Bethany Hall. This dynamic event, organized by Bridge to Visibility, an entirely non -profit volunteer volunteer, will bring together local leaders and recognized personalities at the national level to educate and inspire current and future generations. The conference is open to everyone and offers a unique opportunity to explore health problems with an impact on the Latin American community through various dimensions of well-being.

The conference will start with an opening address by Juan Rios, LCSWAssociate Professor of Social Work at Seton Hall University. His speech, entitled “Empowreed Wellness: sailing in the journey of vulnerability to liberation in health care”, will set the tone for the day.

Throughout the event, participants can participate in several sessions covering a wide range of subjects – problems of speech speech communication problems, health equity, women’s health and violence violence financial confronted with the Latin American community.

Dave Ortiz, MBA-HCA, Director / CEO of Crystal Run Ambulatory Surgery Center Affilié and president of the National Association of Latino Healthcare Executives Chapter Chapter, will deliver the end note. He will share a stimulating address on “the Latin American aversity of health care” and will give an overview of the challenges that Latin communities are confronted and how they can be eliminated.

A key point of the conference will be the lunch award ceremony, celebrating the achievements of remarkable leaders in the Latin American community. Dr. Natasha Corbitt, originally from New Jersey and pediatric surgeon at UT Southwestern Medical Center, will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. This recognition is even more important because it coincides with the month of the history of blacks. Dr. Corbitt is the first female African-American pediatric surgeon in the United States to hold both a MD and a doctorate. She led revolutionary research which identified a gene responsible for the biliary atresia and created the first mouse model to imitate the condition. In addition, it has launched the FIIND technique, a non -invasive method to diagnose the condition in infants, which is now launched in a national study.

Participants will have the chance to meet this proud Afro -Latina and learn more about her incredible trip during his session, “16 cars en route, after watching them bring all my dreams to stay” – A nod to Beyoncé.

The event will also honor Amanda Parrish Block, the head of assistance and assistance from Summit for the essential elements of our community (Grace), with the service of service. Under his direction, Grace provides critical assistance to 1,133 Mixed Latin and Latin households who insecure financial insecurity. Amanda and her dedicated team coordinate a large-scale dense food and dense supply distribution with a stabilizer service platform for 700 families each week.

The final price of the day, the Healthcare Hero Award, will be awarded to Dr Rosario Zambrano, founder and supplier of Essex Pediatrics and Pediatrics of Morristown.
