In the spring of 2024, Nguyen was the major of sociology, an experience which she described as “incredible”. Not only did this highlight his academic achievements, but also strengthened his dedication to his field of study.
“I am the first generation and I am the first in my immediate family to have obtained my diploma, so it was pleasant to have this additional celebration of my college,” said Nguyen.
Nguyen asked several mentors to support her as she applied for the student Marshal, including the associate professor of sociology Gary Adler, who wrote a “magnificent and thoughtful” recommendation for her.
“There are so much mentorship and so many people who care about me and my education,” said Nguyen. “I think the college does a good job to ensure that their students are academically supported. It’s just a great way to recognize students who put hard work and really care about what they want to do. »»
Nguyen was surprised when she was selected as a Marshal student because her goal was more oriented towards cinema than with sociology. However, she likes to tell people: “Sociology is in everything I do just because that’s how I see and observe the world.”
Nguyen said that if she were to give advice to other Penn State students, it would be to try new things, because you never know what opportunities could get out of it.
“See what you like and learn what you like,” she said. “I did not expect to be in a role that is not based on the film, and I was not sure I am entering it. But now I love it and it’s a career that I can continue in the long term. »»
Nguyen will start his next Nbcuniversal rotation with Universal Content Productions on February 10 where she will support Beatrice Springborn, President of Universal Content Productions and Universal International Studios.
