Gadsden, ala. (Wbrc) – The Gadsden Police Service has a new way of helping to monitor the training of their training agents in the field. It is a way to follow the strengths and weaknesses of the officers of the officers and to identify the means to improve.

Captain Lane Keener is in charge of the training program at the Gadsden police service. He says technological progress allows his service to work effectively.

“He essentially computerized the San Jose model and we are able to personalize our program with him,” said Keener.

Captain Keener talks about the new program loves that allows him to see how the new trainees go, as well as their field training officers.

“I know that this will improve our statistics considerably and what we need to focus on. The weaknesses and forces of employees, ”said Keener.

Alec Burgess, head of field training, says that knowing how to teach is essential with new trainees. He says that each situation is different and that they know how to adapt.

“This helps work largely. Know your people, know what they need and how you can help them. Everything is constantly evolving, each scenario is different, you can never teach everything we will see here. I do these eight years and every day are different, ”said Burgess.

Being in high -level work that is constantly under the microscope, the Burgess officer says that the maintenance of the training standard is important with the ministry.

“We read press articles, we read legal proceedings and decisions and things like that because every day, this work can change and many things have to do with these legal proceedings or how the world changes”, “said Burgess.

Captain Keener says that new trainees are placed with FTOs who have followed a training program to learn how to be appropriate training agents.
