Hideaki Nishino was appointed unique CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, starting April 1, 2025.

Last May, Nishino and Hermen HULST were appointed joint CEO of SIE following Jim Ryan’s departure.

HULST has led the Business Group studio, which oversees teams from the first parts of PlayStation and the development of IPS in other mediums. He will continue this role and present himself in Nishino.

As part of leadership changes, director Hiroki Totoki was promoted to CEO and president of the Sony Group Corporation. The SVP of finance, business development and Lin Tao strategy will take up the previous role of Totoki as a financial director.

“It was a pleasure to work more closely with Hermen and Nishino and to have an overview of the constantly evolving and rapid world of Sony’s interactive entertainment,” said Totoko.

“While putting the stick back to Nishino and this exceptional management team, I am convinced that SIE will reach new heights in the coming days.”

Nishino added: “We will continue to develop the PlayStation community of new ways, such as the expansion of intellectual property, while offering the best technological innovation.

“I would like to thank Hermen for his expertise and leadership when he continues his role as CEO of the Studio Business Group. I am deeply grateful for the PlayStation community and their continuous support and I am very excited for what ‘Future has in store for us. “
