Olympia, Washington, January 29, 2025 –The main association of small businesses in the state of Washington has today published its Legislative agenda for the year, With changes in the personal land tax of state companies and the main priorities for the affordability of health care.

“We are going to do the lobby House Bill 1004 And Joint resolution of the house 4200 This will extend the exemption from the company’s personal land tax to all companies and will increase this exemption to $ 50,000, “said Patrick Connor, director of the National Federation of Independent Affairs (NFIB) to Washington. “Like another absolute priority, we will also put pressure for the passage of House Bill 1382 This will modernize the All-Payer complaints database to make it compliant with the federal rules. It would be a huge step towards the affordability of health care. »»

The other elements of the agenda finally include the adoption of a right -wing law (HB 1483, SB 5423), allowing small repair workshops and individuals to buy parts, tools and instructions for manufacturers of electronic devices. “We have worked with technological industry leaders on this bill,” said Connor.

Included in the opposition of the agenda of the NFIB consists in extending unemployment benefits to strike workers, accelerating the existing calendar of the minimum wage and to finance the replacement of wages for non -eligible workers to receive services user interface. “The unemployment insurance system was built to take taxes from employers, the only people to pay in the trust fund and disperse it to workers who have lost their jobs without any fault on their part. It was not supposed to be an open bar tab for everyone, ”added Connor.
