Transgender rights defense groups on Tuesday filed a complaint against the American president Donald Trump Executive decree which targeted the transgender soldiers, in what would be the first legal challenge to a cornerstone of its conservative program in the Pentagon.

Asset signed a decree On Monday, this targeted transgender troops in a personal way – at some point, saying that a man identifying himself as a woman was “not coherent with the humility and the required altruism of a soldier” .

The trial, jointly filed by Glad Law and the National Center for Lesbian Rights (NCLR) before a district court of Washington DC, disputes the constitutionality of the decree and declared that it had violated the equal protection component of the fifth amendment of the American constitution.

The complainants include six transgender soldiers and two people seeking to join the army.

Reuters was the first to report plans to submit the trial.

Although the order has prohibited the use of pronouns “invented” in the army, he did not answer basic questions, especially if the transgender soldiers who are currently used in the army would be authorized to stay and, if not , how they would be deleted.

Trump’s order has been strongly criticized by rights groups and certain Democratic legislators.

“The executive order of President Trump is an insult to bravery and the service of transgender soldiers,” said senator Andy Kim.

“How can we have a soldier who protects all Americans if he does not recognize and do not respect all Americans?” He added.

During his first mandate, Trump announced that he would prohibit transgender troops from serving in the army. He did not fully follow this ban – his administration frozen their recruitment while allowing the service staff to stay.

President Joe Biden overturned the decision when he took office in 2021.

The army has approximately 1.3 million staff in active service, according to data from the Ministry of Defense. While the defenders of transgender rights say that there are up to 15,000 transgender soldiers, the officials are in the thousands of thousands.

When Trump announced his first ban in 2017, he said the soldiers had to focus on a “decisive and overwhelming victory” without being overwhelmed by the “enormous medical costs and disruptions” to have transgender staff.
