The 49ers of San Francisco want to extend Brock Purdy. Purdy, probably, wants the same thing.
Perhaps the 49ers can finish it before it is too deep in the offseason, which was a problem for the team on certain major contracts like Trent Williams, Nick Bosa and Brandon Aiyuk in recent years. During the NFL annual spring assembly, the Director General of the 49ers, John Lynch, was optimistic that the Purdy’s often discussed agreement will be made without much drama.

“Brock wants to be with us. We want Brock to be with us,” said Lynch, Via David Lombardi from San Francisco Standard. “When this is the case, these things are done.
“Hopefully this is very soon to happen.”

It is great to say that the end of March, but realistically, it will be a complicated negotiation on a massive contract.
Finding a fair rate for Purdy is not easy. Is it worth 60 million dollars per season like the Dallas Cowboys quarterrier, Dak Prescott? Is it in the range of $ 55 million like Joe Burrow, Jordan Love and Trevor Lawrence? There are nine quarters in the NFL earning more than $ 50 million a year and it seems that Purdy will join them this offseason. The main question is where he is going to place himself.

Purdy was a revelation for the 49ers after being the last choice of the NFL 2022 recovery. He posted a note of 104.9 passers -by during his three seasons and helped the 49ers reach the Super Bowl LVIII. Purdy’s figures dropped last season, especially by jumping from a note of 113 passes at 96.1, but it turned out to be a good choice in the Kyle Shanahan offensive. There will be a continuous question to know if it is a transcendent talent that has been neglected in the project or greatly benefiting from a solid scheme with fantastic teammates around him, but the 49ers do not seem to be concerned with the latter.
When Purdy signs, this will change the balance of the 49 -player wage ceiling. The Purdy recruit agreement was $ 3.7 million over four years, which is tiny for a quarter of the NFL. This gives Purdy a certain motivation to obtain its nine -digit extension with the 49ers which made this offseason.
Having the agreement concluded early on would help to tighten everything and potential distraction for a team that comes out of a very disappointing 6-11 season. The two parties should therefore have the point of concluding the agreement before the 49ers off -season program really begins. The only question seems to be what the final figures will be.
