An organizer of an event by Tesla Takedown says it is important to keep the events to make Tesla CEO clearly, Elon Musk, that they defend democracy.
“In the Lower Mainland, we had four Tesla events on dismantling,” said Pat McCutcheon to Global News.
“We have one in Kitsilano (Saturday). We also have one in North Surrey at the Scott Road-104 (avenue) Tesla Showroom. And on Sunday, we also have events by Tesla Takedown, a Tesla Takedown at the East Vanver at the East Vanver.
McCutcheon said there were 213 additional events that would take place worldwide.
“We want to put Pressure on Elon Musk with his exorbitant wealth, he essentially bought his way to the White House and collaborates with (Donald) Trump to dismantle democracy in the United States,” he added.
“If this happens, if they manage to do so, it is very likely that democracy will also collapse in Canada.”

Police have also linked nine mischief incidents against private vehicles since January with an opposition to American policy, Const. TANIA VISINTIN of the Vancouver police department explained.
These incidents include rocks and liquids thrown on cars, damaged wipers and racist symbols written on vehicles.
In comparison, there was no mischief of the Tesla dealerships or the accusation terminals in 2024, the police confirmed.
McCutcheon said the demonstrations were peaceful and that they do not tolerate violence.
“We just want to send the message that the way to go to Elon Musk is to collapse sales of Tesla products,” he added.
“We are not ashamed of the owners of Tesla vehicles either. We respect the fact that they probably made a decision per year, two, three years ago. To buy a Tesla product and we have nothing against them at all. ”

Visintin also said the police will not tolerate any violence.
“While everyone has the right to express themselves legally and peacefully, no one has the right to use violence, to harm goods or to intimidate others,” she said.
“There are a number of events scheduled for Tesla this weekend, and deployment of a strong police presence to ensure that these demonstrations remain legal.”
Visintin said the police understood that people are in distress and worried about world events, but that it is not a solution.
“We encourage people to speak peacefully, legally and with respect for others,” she said.
“Anyone who breaks the law will be faced with an arrest and the charge.”
Global News spoke to an owner of Tesla who declared that although he does not agree with what Musk does in the White House at the moment, he does not think that targeting of the automobile is the right answer.
“(My partner) bought the car before Elon went crazy,” said Peter Hendricks.
“In 2019, everyone thought that electric cars were the future and good for the environment and all that and I do not think it is bad rhetoric … The policy of the time is simply complicated, I suppose.”
Protests targeting the properties of Tesla are part of more than a dozen demonstrations and special events that should attract large crowds throughout the city during the weekend.
Global News also contacted Tesla to comment, but has not heard.
