2019 Tall Ships Erie Sailing Parade between almost Isle Bay

Look at large ships from all over the world to meet almost Isle Bay during the 2019 ERIE festival of ships.

The Erie region likes to celebrate its inheritance, its music, its food and much more.

A variety of festivals and similar events take place locally from mid-May to September. Most are free to attend with food, drinks and certain activities.

Here are the details of these fun events that we were able to find. Some were still in the planning steps and the details were not available. If you have any information for one we have missed, send it to an email to dmassing@timesnews.com.

Festivals from the ERIE region

Festival of Art and Music in downtown Edinboro:: May 16-18, various sites of Edinboro. Showcase of art and basic music in the unique spirit of the culture and tradition of the Appalachians. Free to attend. 814-734-3777.

Troika Festival:: May 23-25, Church of the Nativity Community Center, 109 German St. Music, Dance, Food, Drinks Plus; Take advantage of the Russian Orthodox church, the pantry, the community center, in the neighborhood. Free to attend. 814-520-5006.

ERIE Off & Music Festival of the Wild Coast:: May 28-31, Perry Square. BBQ prepared by cooking teams on the ribs on the national scale as well as other cabins of food, beer and wine, groups, craft cabins, sellers, children’s activities, more. Free to attend. 814-899-5177.

Duran’s Down Home Days:: June 7-8, side of the Park Park, High Street, Waterford. Sellers, events, cast iron chief competition, more. Free to attend. 814-490-2179.

14th Festival:: June 12, Erie Metropolitan Transit Authority, East 14th Street between the French and Dutch streets. Family event with live music, local food and drinking sellers, children’s activities, more. Free to attend. 814-452-2801.

Corryfest:: June 12-15, Corry City Park and downtown Corry. Celebrate the city with the parade, entertainment, food, wooden sculptors, more. Free to attend. 814-665-9925.

Community Wesleyville Day:: June 14, Wesleyville Memorial Park, North Street and Wesley Avenue, Wesleyville. Celebration of the community with groups, struggle, craft stands, food, children’s activities, fireworks, more. Free to attend. 814-899-5177.

Celebration of Erie Juneteenth:: June 14, Perry Square. Family festival with music, sellers, children’s activities, the celebration of African-American heritage and history, culture and freedom. Free to attend.

Bay pride:: June 28, Liberty Park. Community celebration with music, food, local organizations, more. Free to attend. 814-314-9075.

Great Blue Heron Music Festival:: July 4-6, 2361 Waits Corners Road, Sherman, New York. Presents an eclectic mixture of musical genres of regional and national artists. Variable ticket prices and camping costs. 716-761-7190.

Northeast Firefighters Cherry Festival:: July 9-12, Heard Park, northeast. Fund for firefighters with rides, homemade pies, games, entertainment, more. Free to attend. 814-725-5616

Roller event for veterans:: July 10, Harley-Davidson d’Erie, 3712 W. 12th St., and July 11-12, 8161 Oliver Road. Event with music, food, drinks, parade, more.

Panegyri:: July 11 and 12, Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 4376 West Lake Road. Ask about the eastern Orthodox Christian faith as well as the diversity of culture, food and music associated with the parish community. Free to attend. 814-838-8808.

Slobberfest:: July 12, Droopy Basset Hound Rescue of Western Pennsylvania, 15581 Stewart Hill Road, Union City. Celebration of basset dogs with costumes, competitions, more. Free to attend. 888-943-8376.

The gathering at Chaffee:: July 25-26, 8296 Mill St., Girard. Music by national, regional and local deeds. Variable ticket prices; Additional costs for VRs, trailers and pop-up campers.

Dan Rice Days:: July 31. 2, Girard. Celebration of Girard and the owner of the circus who was winning there, with entertainment, crafts, food, parade, more. Free to attend. 814-774-9683.

Erie Blues & Jazz Festival:: August 2 and 3, Frontier Park. Fest featuring world class musicians, more. FREE ENTRANCE.

Mark your calendars: The dates of large vessels iéri placed for 2025 festival

Large vessels:: August 21-24, Erie’s Waterfront. The event highlights Erie’s maritime heritage, with opportunities to navigate and visit large large ships around the world and enjoy family attractions. Various ticket options necessary to participate in the event and for bridge visits; Ships can be consulted for free from various places at the water’s edge. 844-542-3743.

Zabawa Polish Festival:: August 22-24, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2220 Reed St. Celebration of Heritage With Food, Dancing, Plus. Free to attend. 814-456-0671.

German Heritage Festival:: August 30 and 31, St. Nick’s Grove, 5131 Old French Road. Culture of culture with food, music, dance, beer, more. $ 5, free for 12 and under, $ 8 for a two-day pass.

Games of Highlands and Scottish Festival:: September 5 and 6, Pennwest Edinboro, Edinboro. Events include violin, pipe and drum, athletics, harp and dance, food, sellers, more workshops. Free to attend with the exception of the Ceilidh dinner. 814-732-2000
