In the Best Best: Readers’ Choice 2025 survey of Baltimore Sun, our readers voted on what is best in the region, wedding places and roofers with pediatricians and hair salons. This year’s winners highlight people and businesses recognized for exceptional services and customer satisfaction in the past year.
The survey includes more than 550 winners in nearly 200 categories in six areas – arts and entertainment, house and garden, food and drinks, lifestyle and shopping, personal services and people and media. More than 47,000 ballots have been sunk, cultivating a list of your favorite museums, pizzas, shops, television anchors, radio hosts and more.
Best clothing store, men’s clothing, shoe store: Gian Marco Mens swear
517 N. Charles St. 410-347-7974. Gian-Marco-menswear.com.
As for what is worth, everyone takes care of prices in this fashion shop for men.
“They are entitled,” said Marc Sklar, CEO of Charles Street’s store, who treats luxury clothes and shoes.
Who would pay $ 100 for a bow tie, $ 260 for a cotton shirt or $ 400 for a pair of crocodile and python sneakers?
“Someone who appreciates quality,” said Sklar. “People who come here want a good product. It’s like eating steak rather than something McDonald’s. ”
Nantis customers agree. For 35 years, they have bought a European dress and relaxed wear of Gian Marco’s fashionable racks, while praising the most notch fabrics and personalized clothes.
“This thing is so well done that it will get rid of it, then will come back before it wears out,” wrote an online critic.
“It’s almost true,” said Sklar. “Except that the goods we buy is so timeless that it never gets rid of.”
Twice a year, he and the co -owner John Massey fly in Italy and travel the high -end clothing factories, while waiting for this Eureka! moment.
“We have literally climbed through vaults of fabric to find things that are really unique,” said Sklar. “We are looking for buried treasures.”
The fabric found, they make their orders, aware of the extent of their customers.
“Sometimes we have Italian manufacturers who produce sizes that they would not normally produce,” he said. “They must understand that there is a plot great Americans. “”
How old are Gian Marco’s customers?
“25 years to death,” said Sklar. “We have done a lot of their burials.”
Also weddings, diplomas, confirmations and bar-mitsva.
“We are going to people to adapt them or to redo their cabinets,” said the owner. To tell the truth, customers like to browse the Mount Vernon store, if only to hear the jokes of good humor between Sklar and Massey. The first said: “We have been in this business for so long that John dressed Moses.”
