Tallahassee, Florida. – The Committee of the Temple of Sports Florida University A & M (Fuma) is proud to announce the class of 2025. The distinguished class of this year includes 15 winners: eight former students-athletes, two legendary coaches and five exceptional supporters of Rattle Athletics.
Marvin Green, President of the Temple of Fomed Sports, expressed his pride in this year’s selections: “It is always an honor to recognize individuals who have had a lasting impact on the athletics of the Famu, both on and out of the field,” said Green. “This year’s class includes record holders at university, conference and national levels. Our enthroned coach has been pillars in the development of young athletes, and our supporters have always shown an unwavering commitment, playing a crucial role in the success of our programs.”

Wayne Barber (male basketball)
Career adjustment n ° 2 of the FAMU and 6th in the scoring of all time (1,579). Led the team in the rebound (1974). A 6 -inch center 7 inch, a superbly gifted player and one of the fiercest of great men in the middle.
Jomo Cousins (Football)
Played in football and the track. Fumu and Meac records to throw it weight and were an out -of -competition record launcher. Won three Meac titles in football under Billy Joe and went to the NCAA qualifiers each year, including in the semi-finals. Cousins played for the Berlin Thunder in the NFL Europe.
Q’vaunda Curry (Women’s basketball)
Most of the 3 points have made women’s basketball and team captain for three years. The NCAA Top 20 for three years in the games played, the goals on the field of 3 points and the attempts of 3 field points. TOP 20 of the NCAA two years of players’ efficiency rating.
Amber Fullwood (softball)
2x champion of Meac All-Meac / 4 times (FAMU record) and was a 4-year starter. The regional appearances of NCAA 4X NCAA NCAA, Softball 2017, more precious, rookie of 2013 (Softball), 3x First Team All-Meac, Golden Glove Award 2016 (3rd base), Prix of the Utility player of 2015 (launcher and 3rd base).
Karlos Odom (Football)
1993 – Recruit defense of the year, 54 plated 7 shortcomings, 2 interceptions. 1994-37 plated, 4 passes, 1 interception, 1995 Sheridan All-American, All-Meac, directs the conference with 69 plated, 5 interceptions, 8 assists, 1996 Pre-season All-American, All-Meac, 77 taches, 7 Breaks-ups, 3 interceptions, career-237 taches, 26 passes.
Rachel Pye (female tennis)
Meac Top 50 Player of Tennis of all time. Starter 4 years / All-Meac / Team Leader / All-Tournoi. All-Meac First Team 2009 and 2010, All-Meac Tournament First Team Double in 2010, 2010 MVP of female tennis of the FAMU 2007, 2009, 2010 Winner Famu Letter 2007, 2008,2009.2010.
E. Lilyan Spencer (female tennis)
Was the biggest female tennis player behind only Althea Gibson. She won the title of female state for 10 years without defeat. Won the 1937 women’s female double championship in the ATA and its championship feat is mentioned in an exhibition of the temple of international tennis renown entitled: “Breaking the Barriers: The Ata and Black Tennis Pioneers”.
Philip Sylvester (football)
The classic quarter of Florida MVP / All-Meac / All-American, 2007 Meac Rookie of the Year, 2007 Atlanta Classic MVP, 2007 Meac All-Academic Team. 2007, 2009, 2010 Florida Classic MVP, 2010 Hbcu All Star Game, captain of the Fumu football team. Graduated with engineering honors.

Jacqueline Perkins – was the first woman assistant trainer and equipment manager in the history of the FAMU. Inaugurated in the region because it was one of the first women everywhere to keep its distinction. She helped the legendary George “Godfather” equipment trainer Thompson and was supported in his efforts by Hansel Taken, Sr. and coach Rudy Hubbard.
Michael Smith – Former co -captain of the Rattler football team, Smith would prosperate as a boot boot and kick. He would graduate with his MBA and work at Famu in auxiliary services, where he supervised the filthy athletic interaction with the university. Four times, he was acting sports director and has a solid story of hiring coach as director of acting athletics, notably Jamey Shouppe (Baseball) and Garfield Ellenwood (track and field).
Van Wilson – One of the longest volunteers holding the history of the Famu. Wilson began to serve under his father in the late 1970s. Although the maintenance of statistics for all sports has become a main responsibility, the integration of technology in the athletics department was one of its greatest achievements. He volunteered in all 1977 filled relays to the last organized by Darlene Moore in 2017 (40 years).
