Dallas stars scored three times in the third period for a 5-2 3-game victory against the Winnipeg jets on Sunday in Dallas.
It was a controversial winning goal of the game that was awarded to the stars after a long seven-minute video review while Dallas took a 2-1 lead in the best series.
It appeared that Alexander Petrovic scored Go Ahead’s goal on a kick movement with the 2-2 equality match in the final setting. The washer left his skate and deflected Connor Hellebuyck’s goal stick, and was finally a good goal. The stars scored again 49 seconds later and added one more for the three goals’ victory.
According to Jets head coach Scott Arniel, officials told him that the goal had been authorized to count because Hellebuyck directed the stewed washer in the net.
“The rule stipulates that if the washer is launched, if it strikes a body or stick from someone other than the goalkeeper, that counts as a goal,” said Arniel. βIt struck our goalkeepers and entered the net. This is not an objective. So they said that Helly had propelled the washer. I have not seen the word propeling into the rules book.
“This is what we take the rule. This is what we thought. The situation is why we may think it was going to go our management.
The jets made no excuse for not being ready to go after the long delay, the stars, the stars quickly marked everything except to seal the victory.

“There is no excuse,” said Kyle Connor. “We must be ready to play, whether short or long. And obviously, a big momentum. They were able to get this one, then they marked the next quarter of work there.
“Obviously, omino swings occur in a match and we try to transform more into our favor, but that’s just the way it happened.”
The jets called for a time after the second goal in less than a minute after it appeared that the match had moved away from them.
“For our line to abandon two in the third period – that cannot happen,” said the jets, Morgan Barron. “So it starts with me a little and find a better way. Obviously, it is unacceptable, whatever their entry or the calls around. β
The jets have still not yet won a road match in the playoff series, now with eight consecutive defeats after the season of their home. They were upgraded 22-7 during their four road losses.
Mikko Rantanen had a goal and two assists for the stars, while Roope Hintz, Thomas Harley and Wyatt Johnston had the other markers of the victory.
Kyle Connor and Nino Niederreiter replied for the jets in the loss.
The shots finished 26-25 in favor of the stars and the jets were suspended until the defensive failure in the third.
“I thought we played a hell of a hockey match,” said Arniel. “I thought we had played a very strong match, played a very good game.
βI really like what we have done. I don’t think it made us shake. I think we put a little on our healing in this next one. We have given up what we rushed against this upper line. β
Hellebuyck granted five goals on 26 shots and abandoned at least five goals in their first four qualifying games on the road.
“He had to make big stops,” said Arniel. “He and (Jake) Oettinger, they were going a little on foot. There are many beautiful looks in both directions, but we are going to be tried our whole team. We are all going to be judged, not only Connor, by what is happening on the road.”
Oettinger made 23 stops for Dallas.
The jets will again seek their first victory on the road to the playoffs in what will be a 4 pivot match Tuesday in Dallas from 7:00 p.m.
