The nevada worker is recovered after suffering from conjunctivitis, or a pink eye, the central health district of Nevada said in a statement. He added that there is no evidence that the virus spreads from one person to another and said that the CDC considers the bird flu as a low risk to the public.
The US Department of Agriculture reported for the first time last week that a second bird influenza strain was found in dairy cattle in Nevada, a discovery that increased concerns about the American epidemic. The second strain, known as D1.1, was the predominant genotype among wild birds in fall and winter last winter and was also found in poultry, the agency said.
A person of Louisiana died who had been hospitalized with the genotype D1.1.
